The Art of
Practicing Dance
Become your own teacher & learn to practice dancing as a pathway to deeper self-awareness.
A 3-Month Mentorship Program
Many people who love to dance struggle to practice without guidance from a teacher.
Some get overwhelmed by the endless possibilities and jump from one approach to another without gaining depth in any of them.
Others get stuck in one particular way of moving, leading to a loss of inspiration.
Are you longing for your own practice?
Dance explorations that improve your movement quality and invite you into presence?
Then this program might be a good fit.
Through close 1:1 Mentoring
I will help you:
Balance Structure & Freedom in self practice
Let Curiosity be you Guide
Find Joy in the simplest Movements
Give yourself Feedback
Deal with the Ups & Downs of Self Practice
What keeps people from finding a practice that works for them?
❋ Lack of Structure/Freedom
Long-term self-Practice requires a delicate balance between structure & consistency on the one side and playfulness and spontaneous exploration on the other.
If the practice becomes too rigid and structured, we become inflexible, stuck in habits, and addicted to a specific routine. If the practice is too loose and open we feel lost and overwhelmed and no real progress is made.
The goal of this mentorship is to help you find a dynamic middle ground a kind of structure that is supportive but still allows your practice to breathe, adapt and grow.
❋ Disconnection from Sensations
Most of us are completely out of touch with our bodies—even dancers. Instead of valuing the sensations of movement, we have learned to judge ourselves from the outside, trying to create the "right" shapes or move in aesthetically pleasing ways.
Reconnecting with the felt experience of movement requires real work, but it forms the foundation of an intrinsically motivated and sustainable dance practice.
Throughout the mentorship, you will refine your ability to listen to and work with your sensations, developing a deeper sensitivity to your body's needs, abilities, and curiosity. This attunement becomes the foundation for being truly present and for moving with greater skill, ease, and joy.
❋ Limiting Mindsets & Ideas
The mindset and philosophical framework we bring to our practice are just as important as the movements we do.
Obsessions with the "correct" way of moving leave people afraid to explore by themselves and dependent on teachers who claim to know the "right" technique.
Self-improvement culture encourages endless optimization through gadgets, protocols, routines, and metrics—often at the cost of intuition, flexibility, and common sense.
Many movers chase one impressive trick after another while failing to value or enjoy simple, "unimpressive" movement.
Throughout the mentorship, you will learn to recognize and question the beliefs and attitudes that shape the way you practice, creating a healthier, more curious, and more conscious relationship with movement.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
In this program, you are not practicing dance for performance or an audience. You are not rehearsing choreography. Instead, you will explore dancing from the inside out, taking felt experience as the starting point.
Through gentle movements and deep attention you can become better at dialoguing with your sensations and more attuned to the needs and abilities of your body in each moment—which, in turn, enables you to explore more challenging movements.
Over time, practicing in this way can help you become your own teacher, giving you greater agency in your own development.
Dancing in this way is closer to somatic or meditative self-inquiry than to a performing art.
-
You do not need to be a professional dancer, but some prior experience with dance or movement exploration is recommended.
-
The Mentorship only makes sense if you are willing to spend at least three hours per week practicing with the material.
-
Not necessarily. A living room with enough space to roll around a little should be sufficient.
-
The Mentorship is offered on a sliding scale from 950€–1,250€. You can choose any amount within that range. The idea is that participants who are in a stronger financial position may choose to contribute more than the minimum.
